| SEAL LOCK® sealing nuts provide a new solution to the old problem of providing a reliable seal to nut and screw assemblies. Until now a separate and additional barrier has had to be created between the contact surfaces, such as packing compound, O-ring, or even the more expensive option of changing the component design to receive a seal.
With SEAL LOCK® sealing nuts, the design engineer has the option of a one-piece high performance fastening that eliminates any possibility of omitting the seal on final assembly. They provide an effective seal against liquids or gases, even after the joint has been disassembled and re-tightened, up to five times.
SEAL LOCK® sealing nuts consist of a metallic nut, with an underhead recess into which the sealing ring is captured. The seal is made of a tough polyamide 11, resistant to oils and solvents.
The nut can be readily tightened. During this process the seal ring flows, under pressure, into the threads of the mating stud and against the side walls of the hole within the component. In so doing, the initial setting forces are retained and a complete seal achieved. Any need for re-tightening is totally unnecessary, unlike with alternative seals which settle down, or any resulting drop in initial tension, which is often found in spring-locking components.
As a high performance fastener available in made styles and sizes,
SEAL LOCK® can be matched to the operational conditions and performance criteria of individual applications. In the standard version, SEAL LOCK® are available from M6 to M16, including fine threads, or collar nut configuration.
The vast experience of Bollhoff technical advice service is available without obligation and sample SEAL LOCK® nuts can be tested on customers’ components. |
