| SEAL LOCK® sealing screws provide an economic solution to the old problem of providing a reliable seal to nut and screw assemblies. Until now the contact surface required additional mechanical processing under the head, packing compounds, O-rings, or expensive, design measures in order to seal the component.
With SEAL LOCK® sealing screws, one-piece construction elements are at the disposal of the demanding design engineer. They seal reliably against liquids and gases, even under high pressure, and can be disassembled and re-tightened up to five times.
SEAL LOCK® sealing screw consist of a metal screw of various tensile strength classes with a special sealing ring secured under the head. The sealing ring is made of tough polyamide 11, which is resistant to oils and solvents.
The SEAL LOCK® sealing screw can be tightened in the regular way. During this process, the sealing ring flows under high pressure into the 90º recess and against the side walls of the hole within the component. Doing so results in a metal contact surface and secure seal, which is necessary to retain the initial setting forces. This removes any need for re-tightening, which is necessary as a consequence of a drop in initial tension for seals that settle in or spring-locking components.
As a construction component available in series production, SEAL LOCK® sealing screws can be matched to the operational conditions and design criteria of individual applications. In the standard version, SEAL LOCK® sealing screws can be supplied from M6 to M16 including fine threads.
