| Innovation develops new fields of application in the high temperature sector Böllhoff (Bielefeld/Germany) completes its successful SNAPLOC® product range with the SNAPLOC®-HT-3D-Coupling. With this innovation, the Company taps into additional applications, in particular in automotive manufacturing. This is because the new solution is characterized by more improved shape retention under heat and better friction fit values. In addition, the SNAPLOC®-HT-3D-Coupling is now diesel oil resistant and is now also designed for three-dimensional compensatory movements. The SNAPLOC® system developed by Böllhoff plastics technology around five years ago has made the Company into a much sought after partner by all well-known OEMs and the subcontractor industry. Here, the simple and economical fastening element is mainly used where sound insulating covers, faceplates, or panels must be attached in such a way that vibrations and noise are isolated. The two-part fastening system consists of a ball pin and a coupling element. The noise and vibration isolating connection is made by simply snapping the components together. They can also be unsnapped to disassemble the connection. Since no additional tools are required, the assembly time is reduced by approximately 90 percent for covers in the engine compartment of automobiles. Additional cost benefits are achieved by reducing the number of individual components in connecting elements from a customary six to only two. With the SNAPLOC®-HT-3D-Coupling, Böllhoff plastics technology has now further optimized the tried and proven system. Here, this innovation consistently reflects the market demands. Among other things, this now includes the three dimensional compensatory movement, the material's resistance to diesel oil, retention of shape under heat, even for continuously high temperatures of up to 150 degrees Celsius, as well as other improved friction fit values with the most optimum disassembly force. This innovation emphasizes Böllhoff’s great innovative power in connection technology. Above and beyond automotive manufacturing, the SNAPLOC® range of products is finding increased use in the electronics industry.
